Field based (worldwide coverage)

As an industry leader, our client provides fibre optic products, engineering expertise and integrated services to the power transmission / distribution and telecommunications industries. Their project services department carries out and supports the installation of products worldwide, both as prime contractor and in an advisory capacity. An opportunity has now arisen for a Fibre Optic Field Engineer to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a highly motivated field engineer, ideally with a background in site management working on overhead power lines and/or fibre optics, looking to further their career with an industry leader.
As a Fibre Optic Field Engineer you will be responsible for providing training and support on installation sites and full site management on turnkey projects. You will also be responsible for the onsite care and maintenance of the company’s specialist installation equipment.
Your role will include co-ordinating contractors and ensuring a timely completion of safety critical projects within budget and to customer specifications. You will be tasked with providing on-going support for installations, in line with contract requirements, and assisting in the preparation and enactment of appropriate risk assessments and method statements.
To be considered for this position, you must have a proven track record of site management and experience gained within a field based role. You must also have significant engineering experience, preferably a background working with power lines or fibre optics. A mechanical aptitude and understanding would also be advantageous
As a Fibre Optic Field Engineer you will need to be self-motivated, self sufficient, presentable and confident to communicate at all levels. You also need to be methodical and thorough with an eye for detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
